Anti-Fraud and Collusion Policy

Last updated: October 29, 2026

Renters trust that an item is as described and that their deposit is treated fairly. Listers trust that their items are looked after and honestly inspected. Partner dry cleaners and delivery partners sit between them, so their honesty matters to both. This policy explains what we treat as fraud and collusion, how we prevent and detect it, how to report it and what happens when we find it. It applies to every member, every Partner and our own staff, and forms part of our Terms and Conditions.

1. What we mean

Fraud is deceiving someone to gain money or an advantage, or to cause them a loss. Collusion is two or more people, for example a partner cleaner and a Lister, a partner cleaner and a Renter, or a delivery partner and either of them, secretly working together to deceive or cheat another member or us.

Partner cleaners and Listers

  • verifying an item that has not been inspected, or that is damaged, dirty, counterfeit or not as described;
  • recording damage that is not there, or exaggerating it, so that a Renter’s deposit is wrongly kept, and sharing the deduction;
  • swapping an item, or verifying a different item from the one listed;
  • taking money, gifts or favours to speed up, skip or soften an inspection.

Partners and Renters

  • hiding or playing down damage at a return inspection in exchange for money or favours;
  • recording a handover, delivery or return that did not happen, or falsely reporting an item lost or stolen;
  • handing an item to anyone other than the booked Renter.

Other fraud

  • listing an item you do not own or have no right to rent, or misdescribing it (see section 6 of the Terms);
  • fake bookings or fake reviews;
  • fake or duplicate accounts, or false or self-made recommendations, to collect referral bonuses or store credit;
  • arranging payment outside the Platform for a booking that started here, or asking for extra cash;
  • using a card or account that is not yours, or claiming you did not receive an item that you did.

2. Conflicts of interest

  • Partners must tell us at info@greentangelo.net about any family, personal or financial link with a Lister or Renter whose item or booking they are asked to handle. They must not inspect, verify, hand over or deliver an item in which they, or someone close to them, have an interest. We will move the item to another Partner.
  • Our staff follow the same rule: nobody decides a payout, refund, inspection dispute or reward that they or someone close to them would benefit from.

3. How we prevent and detect it

  • Every change to an item’s status, every handover, inspection, refund and payout is recorded with who made it and when.
  • Only the partner cleaner assigned to an item can verify it (or our team, for our own company listings). A written note is required to mark an item as needing repair or not accepted, and for any deposit deduction.
  • A deduction can never be more than the deposit, and the Renter is told the amount and the reason.
  • Members cannot rent, review or book a fitting on their own items, recommend themselves or someone who already has an account, or recommend the same person twice.
  • Payouts and referral rewards are released only after our team has reviewed them, and every payment is checked against what our payment partner confirms.
  • We look for patterns, such as frequent deductions by the same cleaner, repeated recommendations or unusual bookings, and may ask anyone involved for photos or other evidence.

4. Reporting a concern

If you suspect fraud or collusion, write to info@greentangelo.net with “Fraud report” in the subject, and include what happened, when, the booking or listing concerned and any evidence. You can ask us to keep your identity confidential, and we will not share it without your consent unless the law requires it. Nobody may be penalised for a report made in good faith; retaliation is itself a breach of this policy.

5. Investigations

While we investigate, we may:

  • pause payouts, withdrawals and referral rewards linked to the matter;
  • ask the partner cleaner to hold the item;
  • suspend the accounts or partner status involved;
  • ask everyone involved for information and evidence, and contact our payment partners.

We aim to finish within 30 days and to tell the people affected what we decided, as far as we can without breaching anyone’s privacy.

6. What happens if we find fraud or collusion

  • We reverse what was gained: inspection results, deductions, earnings, bonuses and store credit.
  • Where a member lost money, we refund what we still hold, such as the deposit or unpaid earnings, cancel affected bookings and help them recover the rest.
  • We recover our losses and the losses of those affected by taking the amount from money we owe the people responsible, or by legal claim.
  • We close the accounts and end the partnerships involved, permanently.
  • We may report the matter to the police or other authorities, and share information with our payment partners and law enforcement as the law allows.

Customers in Nigeria. We may report fraud involving members or partners in Nigeria to the Nigeria Police Force or the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), and offences under the Cybercrimes (Prohibition, Prevention, etc.) Act 2015 to the relevant authorities.
